As with all shoes, it is best to have your sandals fitted as all feet are different and everyone prefers to wear their sandals differently. Please see a list of our authorised stockists here.
Our kid’s range consists of infant, child and youth sizing. The drop-down size menu on each product page begins with the smallest size at the top and the largest size in the kid’s range being at the bottom of the drop-down menu. The kid’s range can be found here.
The adult range begins at a youth size 4 which is US Women’s 6 (EU 36) and ends at a size 9, US Women’s 11 ( EU41-42 ). You can shop our adult range here.
Please refer to the measurements below if unsure of your size, noting that these measurements are averages of our range. Please do not purchase FINAL SALE items if you are unsure of sizing as FINAL SALE are not eligible for return or exchange. We are here to assist if you need help finding your best size.
Salt Water Adult sandals: are manufactured in traditional US men’s sizing. For US Women's sizes, please go up by two sizes. For guidance, please refer to the size guide above.
Salt Water Infant, Child and Youth styles: The US size is one size up from the Salt Water size given on the bottom of the sandal.
All Sun-San styles: These come in standard US sizing (this is the size given on the bottom of the sandal). The Sun-San Shark is slightly smaller than other Sun-San styles so we recommend you size up in these.
Do the soles of your new Salt Water style sandals seem shorter? The soles of a well-worn pair of Salt Water Sandals can stretch and lengthen at the toes over time, making your new pair seem a little shorter. You will find the straps are in the same location, matching a left sandal with a left sandal or right sandal with a right sandal.
Please note that Salt Water and Sun-San sandals should fit firmly across the foot on first wear and will gradually adapt to your foot shape. If you experience rubbing/tightness, simply pop your sandals on stand in a bucket of cool water for a few minutes and then allow your sandals to dry while you’re wearing them so that they mould nicely to the shape of your foot.
How to keep your Salt Water sandals looking good…
As the name implies, it’s fine to wear Salt Water and Sun-San sandals in the water (including at the beach, jumping in puddles etc.) and they can be hand washed in cold water using a mild detergent, if dirty. However, be sure to dry away from direct sunlight/heat.

For items purchased from one of our stockists please contact the store.
How to make an exchange
Please purchase the correct pair of sandals you would like from our website and then follow the above return process to return the unwanted purchase. Alternatively, we can process the exchange via the returns portal, simply select store credit and what you would like to exchange for.
We do not refund shipping costs for refunds or exchanges and exchanges incur the outbound ship cost unless a self-addressed appropriately sized pre-paid post satchel is supplied with the returning sandals.

Full-priced items are refundable within 30 days of purchase with an extended 45-day window for all items purchased in December. Shipping is at the customer’s expense. Please make sure you check the sizing information thoroughly before placing your order as Salt Water/Sun-San sizes are unconventional. You can read more about Salt Water/Sun-San sizing here.
Items must be returned in original condition and packaging, this includes the box and inner packaging. Please make sure you try on your shoes on a carpeted area. We will not accept returned shoes that are marked on the sole. The condition of the product is left to the discretion of Salt Water Sandals Australia and we reserve the right to refuse or charge a restocking fee.
Sale and final sale items are non-refundable and may not be returned or exchanged. If you are unsure of sizes please do not purchase Final Sale items as they are not eligible for exchange and we don't want to disappoint.
Full priced items purchased with a coupon code or via a flash site-wide sale are considered Final Sale, this includes discounts automatically applied at checkout.

Faulty Items and Damages
The manufacturer of Salt Water and Sun-San Sandals offers a guarantee for one year against defective materials and workmanship. This does not extend to problems that arise from normal wear and tear. We will replace products we determine to be defective with an identical item and size or a substitute of similar value should the style/colour no longer be available.

Claims for items purchased 12 months or more prior to the claim are considered outside the faulty claims period and will be processed at Salt Water Sandals Australia’s discretion. Salt Water Sandals Australia will cover shipping on faulty items.
Sandals purchased from one of our registered stockists will be considered with an official receipt or bank statement.
Salt Water Sandals does not authorise sales via external marketplaces, including eBay and Facebook (including Facebook pre-owned pages). Sandals purchased via these outlets will not be considered for replacement.
A note about buckles: these can sometimes be stiff due to the nature of the non-rusting brass used. Loosen by moving back and forth, gently. Do not use excessive force, as they can break.

Please allow approximately 1-3 business days for delivery and an extra 1-2 days (approximately) for locations outside of metropolitan areas and approximately 5 days for WA and TAS.
Deliveries are not made on weekends.

If your delivery is delayed please contact Australia Post directly to lodge an enquiry via this link. Unfortunately, shipping delays may occur within the Australia Post network, particularly during the busy Christmas period. Please note that we are unable to compensate for any delayed services.
Free shipping is not currently available on orders, including exchange orders.
We ship with Australia Post. A flat rate of $10 Australia-wide OR $15 Express Post. Please select shipping preference at checkout.
We ship with Australia Post eParcel Express – $25 Flat Rate.
South Pacific (Fiji, French Polynesia (Tahiti), The Cook Islands, Samoa, Tonga, Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea)
We ship with Australia Post eParcel Express – $35 Flat Rate.
A daytime delivery address and valid mobile number must be provided on all international orders, since all parcels require a signature on delivery. A tracking number will be provided once your order has been dispatched as well as a mobile SMS with tracking information to aid you in the management of your delivery.
We can not ship to a PO box address for international orders.
Duties & Taxes
International orders are subject to duties and taxes determined by the country to which they are shipped. These fees are the responsibility of the recipient to pay upon delivery and are not included in the product(s) price. We have no control over processing times or duty rates by Customs in each country.

All orders sent by Salt Water Sandals Australia are sent via Australia Post Regular Post or Australia Post Express Post.
If your parcel does not arrive within a reasonable time frame, please contact us and we will track it for you. There are additional charges for a tracking service in Australia and insurance. Salt Water Sandals will only replace orders using this shipping method providing the order is proved to be lost in transit by our delivery company.
